We are now seeking a

Project Quality Manager

to join our Transmission Division at our HQ in Milan Italy. As a Project Quality Manager your main tasks include planning and implementing quality activities within cable manufacturing and installation projects. You will coordinate and supervise Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities in line with the project scope of work. This scope covers design cable and accessory manufacturing land and marine installation and testing. You will ensure that all activities follow company methods contractual requirements and the relevant standards and regulations.

Youll be joining our rapidly growing Transmission Division which is transforming the cable industry with innovative solutions for eco-conscious energy systems. The Transmission Division designs manufactures and installs for example high-voltage submarine cables across vast distances. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact on a sustainable future while working alongside experienced colleagues in a very international setting. You will report to the Area Projects Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients in relation to Quality matters and relevant contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the Project Quality Plans Quality Control Plans and Project Quality Procedures guaranteeing compliance with contractual requirements and relevant standards and regulations involving internal and external stakeholders (e.g. project teams plants suppliers subcontractors).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing plants in preparing Inspection and Test Plans and monitoring the product quality and the relationship with Customers.
  • Assess the suitability of suppliers and subcontractors at the tender and execution stage to review their quality plans and quality activities ensuring they work in compliance with project quality requirements.
  • Plan and perform quality training activities within the project team and the stakeholders involved
  • Plan and perform quality audits of project processes/activities manufacturing plants suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Follow-up client quality audits non-conformities complaints etc. and ensure relevant problem-solving
  • Promote project improvements lessons learned and best practice collection and implementation.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of project quality reporting.
  • Provide periodical project data analysis (e.g. project objectives performance indicators non-conformities complaints and lessons learned) and related reporting.
  • Ensure contract review and project close-out are performed as per contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate the management of non-conformities and Root Cause Analysis.

Your duties also include collaborating with the companys Quality for reporting tendering purposes and company quality management activities.

Key requirements

  • Solid experience of Quality Management preferably within an EPCI work environment including manufacturing/production land site activities and/or vessel operations
  • Engineering masters degree (or very extensive work experience in Quality Management)
  • Strong Knowledge of ISO 9000 series standards; auditing experience is qualified as a lead auditor will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving and RCA techniques
  • IEC standards PMI risk management techniques Lean Six Sigma knowledge/experience/certification will be a plus
  • Strong leadership skills and a team player attitude
  • People management/influencing and organizational skills
  • Analytical approach and talented in solving problems
  • Proficient in English and Italian written and spoken; other languages will be a plus.
  • Travel expected: about 30% (mostly within Europe)
