Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Pharmacist Resident is an active participant in an intensive 12 month post-graduate year one (PGY1) training program to develop extensive knowledge and clinical skills used to provide effective pharmaceutical care. The pharmacist resident functions as a clinical pharmacist participating in clinical operational and administrative activities designed to assist in applying formal theoretical education and research to clinical patient situations. The resident is responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions is eligible for board certification and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Job Requirements
Required:
- Graduation from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved school of pharmacy with a BS MS or Pharm D degree including didactic courses and experiential rotations in the clinical aspects of pharmaceutical care
- Active CA Pharmacy Intern license
- BLS-CPR
- Obtain Active Pharmacist License in good standing in CA within 3 months of hire - once pharmacist license obtained Intern Pharmacist is no longer required
