The Role

SMEC is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer to join our rail team in North Sydney. The successful candidate will design and deliver low-voltage high-voltage earthing and bonding engineering components for a range of rail projects at both local and national levels.

Key Responsibilities

Design and delivery of low-voltage high-voltage earthing and bonding engineering services for various rail projects
Production of engineering drawings reports specifications and tender packages from preliminary design through to construction
Conduct feasibility studies load calculations and site inspections
Review electrical designs to ensure analysis and design tasks meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
Prepare engineering reports and supporting tender proposals
Proactively collaborate with team members contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality timeliness and coordination of project deliverables

About You

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline
5 years of industry experience
Experience preparing detailed electrical design documentation across rail and other transport infrastructure projects
Design experience in substation protection SCADA and communications (desirable)
Previous experience working within a TAO-authorised design consultancy
Experience using AutoCAD Revit PowerCAD AGI32 DIALux and CDEGS software
Strong understanding of relevant AMB requirements Australian codes and standards as well as Safety Assurance and Systems Engineering processes
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering organisation
Accountability for project delivery and budget management
