The Emergency RVT will be responsible for acting as a highly skilled and professional RVT on the clinical floor setting a strong example of patient care client service and to the Lead Emergency RVT this role works closely with our critical care specialists to deliver exceptional high-level patient care. Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Responsibilities of the Emergency RVT:The Emergency RVT performs all technical responsibilities associated with the role including but not limited to:Clinical & Patient Care:Usage and care of medical equipment including proper sterilization IV catheters and calculating drug doses fluid requirements and and assisting with CPR as with advanced diagnostic tests including scopes and hospitalized patients including critical care and ICU recovery care and hospitalization treatments to support specialty service Education & Support:Providing education home care instructions and nutritional counseling to management of customer complaints in partnership with the Lead Emergency RVT and Hospital Manager including de-escalating resolving and/or escalating issues in a timely Leadership & Collaboration:General supervision of Technologist Assistant (TA) team and proactively communicating updates to Emergency DVMs Lead Emergency RVT and other department team interdepartmental synergy by maintaining open lines of communication with other & Compliance:Maintaining practice software including client and patient record all SOPs to ensure smooth hospital to all federal and provincial animal health laws and workplace health and safety & Experience:Diploma in Animal Health RVT experience preferred ideally in an Emergency or specialty Skills & Abilities:Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication active listening and problem-solving to communicate difficult or sensitive information professionally and time management and organizational skills including the ability to plan coordinate multitask and prioritize interest and initiative to contribute to making Pulse Veterinary the best practice it can initiative and a desire to be an integral part of the growth and development of the Emergency motivation for personal and professional Benefits Competitive compensation packageContinuing education benefitsPersonal pet discountsProfessional duesUniform allowanceShift differential (where applicable)Paid sick days and time offOpportunities for growth and professional developmentAccess to a diverse team with varied experience and knowledgeTo apply or learn more about this opportunity please contact Ali Winter Veterinary Specialists & Emergency is part of the VetStrategy group of clinics.
