We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team and to realize that Objective:The Long Term Sub (LTS) School Adjustment Counselor will provide specialized counseling and support services to address the social-emotional behavioral and academic needs of students in alignment with the MA Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs. This position exists to foster student well-being resilience and success by delivering direct counseling crisis intervention preventative programs and responsive services. The Adjustment Counselor will collaborate with families educators and community partners to create a safe structured and inclusive school environment where every student can thrive while upholding district policies and professional :Provide individual and group counseling to support students social-emotional behavioral and academic developmentDeliver preventative and responsive programs that address mental health behavior management conflict resolution and social skillsCollaborate with teachers administrators guidance counselors school psychologists and families to support students with diverse needsManage a caseload of students requiring targeted social-emotional or behavioral supportParticipate in the development implementation and monitoring of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) Health and Wellness Plans Safety Plans and individualized support strategiesFacilitate crisis intervention and provide immediate support for students experiencing behavioral or emotional difficultiesUse innovative counseling approaches instructional strategies and technology to enhance student engagement and high expectations for student achievement self-regulation and emotional for programming and practices that ensure all studentsincluding those with special needs or ELLshave access to support and learning accurate records of counseling services interventions and student progress while complying with all confidentiality and privacy regulationsParticipate in multidisciplinary meetings including IEP and 504 meetings to support students academic and behavioral successProvide professional consultation and guidance to staff regarding student behavior social-emotional issues and best practices in intervention the districts commitment to providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all other duties as assigned by school or district Qualifications: Massachusetts DESE licensure as an Adjustment Counselor Bachelors DegreeMust pass a pre-employment criminal background checkPreferred Qualifications: Experience providing social-emotional and behavioral support in a school settingKnowledge of the Massachusetts Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and best practices in school-based mental healthExperience developing and implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and social-emotional support plansFamiliarity with 504 plans Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and strategies for supporting students with disabilities or English as a Second LanguageStrong skills in crisis intervention conflict resolution and restorative practicesAbility to collaborate effectively with students families teachers administrators and community partnersKnowledge of social-emotional learning (SEL) frameworks mental health supports and trauma-informed practicesProficiency in using data and counseling technology tools to track student progress and interventionsStrong communication organizational and interpersonal skillsCommitment to fostering equity inclusion and culturally responsive practices in a school environmentDedication to professional growth and staying current with research-based practices in school counseling and student supportSalary & Terms of Employment: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Collective Bargaining Agreement.
