Job Overview
The teacher will be responsible for implementing a two-week summer Spanish Science and language-based Summer Camp. The teacher is responsible for planning and creating an engaging hands-on instructional experience tailored to the needs of young Spanish Immersion learners. Teachers will provide students with an enriching and engaging learning experience over the summer break. Responsibilities include designing age-appropriate learning experiences monitoring students facilitating interactive activities and promoting positive social interactions in Spanish.

- Designs and implements engaging learning experiences aligned with educational standards and curriculum guidelines provided for the summer camp in the Target Language (Spanish).
- Adapts activities as needed to meet the needs and interests of Spanish immersion students.
- Establishes a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Monitors and supports student behavior in instructional settings and promotes a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Communicates effectively with families and community involved in the Program
- Provides guidance and support to language ambassadors
Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
Education
Bachelors degree from accredited university or college.
Licenses and Certifications
- Holds or eligible for a Virginia teaching license required with an endorsement in Spanish K-12 or Dual Language (Spanish) or Elementary Education
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Passion for working with Children
- Proficient in the Spanish Language: Able to conduct all lessons and activities entirely in Spanish. Preferred proficiency level to be Native-like with no less than advanced mid-proficiency in Spanish.
- Strong communication and interpersonal Skills: Able to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students colleagues administrators and parents.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders in both English and Spanish

The following provides a brief description of physical requirements for this position:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly talking expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
