Job Summary
Empath Health is seeking a Treasury Analyst to join our Finance Team! In this role theTreasury Analyst supports financial health by managing day-to-day cash operations optimizing liquidity monitoring investments and ensuring compliance with internal controls and donor restrictions. This position plays a key role in cash forecasting banking relationships and reporting helping ensure the organizations mission is sustainably funded.
What Youll Do
Cash & Liquidity Management
- Monitor daily cash balances and cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and programs.
- Prepare short- and long-term cash forecasts; identify funding needs and opportunities
- Initiate and record internal fund transfers and banking transactions.
- Support management of restricted funds and grant-related cash tracking.
Banking & Investment Administration
- Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions; assist with account openings signatory updates and fee reviews.
- Support investment activities and reporting ensuring adherence to the organizations investment policy and donor restrictions.
- Monitor interest income investment performance and compliance with ethical or mission-aligned investment guidelines.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure treasury activities comply with internal policies donor requirements and applicable regulations (e.g. UPMIFA IRS state laws).
- Assist in developing and maintaining treasury policies procedures and internal controls.
- Support annual audits by providing treasury and banking documentation.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly and quarterly treasury reports for management the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Provide analysis and insights into cash trends funding needs and investment results.
- Contribute to budgeting and financial planning processes by supplying cash flow projections and funding strategies.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate routine cash management tasks and real-time treasury reporting.
- Support the accounting team with resolving bank reconciliation discrepancies and month end close process.
- Support implementation of new treasury systems tools or banking technologies (e.g. online platforms automated reconciliations).

What Youll Need
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field required. Masters degree in Finance preferred.
- Experience with fund accounting or donor-restricted funds.
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or pursuing certification is a plus.
- 25 years of experience in treasury finance or accounting; nonprofit experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of cash flow banking operations and investment principles.
- Proficiency with accounting / ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis ability.
- Excellent attention to detail organization and communication skills.
