Job Summary

A well-respected 1118 secondary school in the Exeter area is seeking a passionate and thoughtful History specialist to join its established Humanities faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys bringing the past to life and developing students curiosity critical thinking and confidence in historical debate.

The Role

You will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 for candidates with suitable experience. The department delivers a knowledge-rich curriculum that balances depth and breadth encouraging students to engage with historical interpretations sources and extended writing.

Lessons place strong emphasis on chronology cause and consequence and the development of analytical skills. Topics span British European and global history with students encouraged to make links between past events and contemporary issues. The department also values enrichment including visits to local historical sites museums and archives which are well integrated into the curriculum.
