Job Summary

A highly respected independent girls school in the Cambridge area is seeking an accomplished and enthusiastic Modern Languages Teacher with a specialism in French to join its thriving Languages department. The Role

You will teach French across KS3KS5 delivering a rich and intellectually challenging curriculum that places strong emphasis on fluency cultural understanding and confident communication. Lessons are immersive and interactive with a clear focus on developing pupils listening speaking reading and writing skills to a high level.

At GCSE and A-Level teaching is analytical and discussion-led encouraging pupils to engage critically with literature film current affairs and the social and cultural context of the language. Class sizes are small allowing for personalised feedback and rapid progress.

There are opportunities to contribute to a wide range of enrichment activities including language clubs cultural events exchange programmes and overseas trips.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or equivalent (or relevant experience within the independent sector)

  • Have excellent subject knowledge and fluency in French

  • Be confident teaching GCSE and A-Level French

  • Be keen to contribute to the wider cultural life of the school
