School Caretaker Bath Immediate Start
Role: School Caretaker / Site Assistant
Location: Bath Somerset
Contract: Full-Time Permanent or Long-term
Hours: Typical school shifts (e.g. 7:30am 4:30pm or Split Shifts)
Salary: Competitive Hourly Rate / Annual Salary (Experience dependent)
Are you a proactive individual with a background in maintenance DIY or facilities management A welcoming school in the historic city of Bath is looking for a dedicated Caretaker to join their team immediately.
As the face of the site you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the school remains a safe clean and functioning environment for students to thrive in.
The Role
This is a varied role that requires a mix of physical work problem-solving and safety compliance.
General Maintenance: Carrying out essential repairs including basic plumbing carpentry painting and decorating.
Site Security: Responsible for the daily opening and/or closing of the school including alarm management and key-holding duties.
Health & Safety: Performing regular inspections and keeping accurate records for fire safety water hygiene (Legionella) and playground equipment.
Grounds Upkeep: Ensuring the school exterior is tidy managing waste disposal and performing seasonal tasks like gritting during the winter months.
The Candidate
Skillset: Previous experience in a similar role (caretaking site management or the trades) is highly desirable.
Reliability: You must be a dependable professional who takes pride in the security of the school premises.
Communication: Ability to work well alongside the School Business Manager and cleaning staff.
DBS: An Enhanced DBS check is required (we can assist with the application process if you do not have one).
