Malace HR is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations at a manufacturing facility. This is a critical on-site leadership role responsible for managing the engineering team and ensuring the safe reliable and efficient operation of all facility infrastructure and equipment that supports manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise people leadership skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead manage and develop the engineering team including hiring training coaching and performance management
Oversee maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and pneumatic issues across machines and systems
Develop implement and maintain preventive predictive and reactive maintenance programs
Manage the engineering budget and participate in the overall operating budget process
Assist in planning and executing capital improvement projects
Select schedule and oversee contractors ensuring quality work and adherence to safety standards
Respond to emergencies breakdowns and service calls as required
Lead technical safety and operational training initiatives
Participate in client-facing communications and collaborate with the property and operations teams
Promote a strong culture of safety reliability and customer service
Minimum Qualifications
7 years of related experience preferably as a Chief Engineer Assistant Chief Engineer or similar leadership role
Proven people management experience leading and developing a technical team
Universal CFC EPA Certification
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word Outlook Excel and Teams
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb and work on ladders up to 30 feet
Physical capability to perform frequent climbing bending kneeling lifting and driving
Preferred Qualifications
Trade school education union training military service or college degree
Experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments
Working knowledge of HVAC systems plumbing electrical systems and water treatment
Familiarity with energy management and sustainability initiatives
Strong project management skills
