Key Responsibilities
Design and develop machine tools and major assemblies (structural parts spindle units sheet metal mechanisms).
Create detailed 3D models using SolidWorks and prepare manufacturing drawings.
Generate casting machining fabrication structural and small-part drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Maintain structured design documentation and drawing repositories.
Prepare and manage:
Design calculations FEA reports DFMEA and project documentation
Machine manuals specifications standards SOPs QC checklists assembly process sheets
ECR/ECN records revision status customer complaint records and DAP documents
BOM material codes and variant configurations in ERP
Release designs and ensure design clearance against customer orders.
Coordinate with Planning Sourcing Assembly Service and Production teams for execution.
Support manufacturing during build and resolve design-related issues.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and production efficiency.
Skill Set Required
Technical Skills
Strong experience in CNC machine tool design (HMC/VMC/gantry/double column).
Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and amp; detailing) and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of machine structures spindle systems fabrication and casting design.
Exposure to FEA tolerance stack-ups and design calculations.
BOM preparation material code creation and SAP variant configuration.
Understanding of manufacturing processes assembly practices and quality standards.
Cost estimation and design-to-cost awareness.
Educational Qualification
B.E./ in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Additional certifications in CAD/CAE machine design or manufacturing engineering preferred.
General Requirements and amp; Behavioral Competencies
5 years of hands-on experience in machine tool design.
Strong ownership and accountability for design deliverables.
Good documentation discipline and data management practices.
Ability to identify risks troubleshoot prototypes and implement design improvements.
Strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Positive attitude discipline at work and commitment to deadlines.
Ability to supervise manufacturing implementation and support commissioning.
