A Day in the Life
Relationship Stewardship:
- Work with partner agencies to help them better serve their communities. Support them through volunteer engagement operational improvements succession planning fundraising networking and other capacity building efforts.
- Engage agencies in conversations around compliance major program participation event involvement and other sensitive topics.
- Partner with departments across the Regional Food Bank to plan and strategize programs events and grant rollouts. Coordinate marketing efforts and activities tailored to targeted communities.
- Network for the Regional Food Bank and partner agencies. Build proven long-term mutually beneficial relationships that support the entire network.
- Address concerns issues and obstacles faced by agencies.
- Conduct periodic check-ins with agencies to foster relationships. Follow up on outstanding topics or issues. Maintain ongoing connections and assistance.
Compliance:
- Conduct agency monitoring and compliance visits every 2 years.
- Give USDA TEFAP training and ensure compliance.
- Screen new partner agencies and conduct pre-approval site visits. Give food safety and civil rights training.
- Ensure compliance. Address noncompliance or lack of communication.
- Contact agencies about client complaints. Help in resolving grievances.
Community Capacity Building:
- Identify potential partner agencies community organizations and resources. Create sustainable long-term relationships that enhance our network during the application process.
- Work within the communities we serve to create awareness. Engage partner organizations and address gaps by providing resources to prevent hunger.
- Attend and organize community events.
- Communicate events resources and opportunities to the communities.
Partner Capacity Building and Training:
- Facilitate operational improvements that enhance agencies ability to serve clients effectively.
- Link agencies to hunger prevention resources that address immediate needs and contribute to long-term solutions.
- Coordinate communication regarding food and equipment availability.
- Identify effective community methods and models.
- Assist with succession planning by aiding leadership transitions.
- Contribute to agency capacity building efforts including improvements related to volunteers community outreach and resource development.
Networking:
- Represent the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma at civic events.
- Identify cultivate and engage potential volunteers donors businesses and civic groups.
- Build a network of relationships and become familiar with relevant data politics resources challenges and opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to join coalitions and community groups to gain insight into the communities we serve.
Disaster Relief:
- Serve as responders for disaster relief efforts.
- Help conversations between Regional Food Bank and communities affected.
- Coordinate disaster relief efforts with Operations community and relief partners.
- Consult with staff about agency relationships and appropriate levels of Partner Liaison engagement.
- Address challenges issues and concerns related to community partnerships partner agencies and clients.
Other Duties as Assigned

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
How you have spent your time:
- Earn a bachelors degree or gain at least 4 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education training and experience is also accepted.
- Work in a nonprofit or community-focused organization for at least 3 years. Focus on service delivery community organizing business development or a related field.
Other Requirements:
- Valid drivers license with a driving record that meets organizational standards.
- Proficiency in common office applications and database software (e.g. Microsoft Office CRM systems).
- Ability to learn and adjust to new technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop long term trust based relationships with partner organizations and community contacts.
- Proven reciprocal and communication skills with the ability to adapt tailor to diverse audiences.
- Ability to complete a background check motor vehicle record review drug screening and physical assessment as required for the role.
- Commitment to advancing the mission of ending hunger.
Safety Sensitive Designation
This position is classified as Safety Sensitive under Oklahoma law. Employees in these roles perform duties where a lapse in concentration could cause injury or environmental harm. The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma cannot hire applicants with a medical marijuana card for safety sensitive positions as required by state law.
Preferred Qualifications
How you have spent your time:
- Work in a nonprofit or community-focused organization for at least 5 years. Focus on service delivery community organizing business development or a related field.
- Proven project management skills with demonstrated organization and attention to detail.
- Expertise in client centered service delivery models.
Your Environment
Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions including temperature changes and humidity (e.g. summer heat winter cold rain sleet snow). Possible exposure to dust chemicals gases fumes smoke noise and vibrations. Work is typically performed in a mix of environments: office field locations and while traveling in a car or fleet vehicle. Work may occur in industrial environments both indoor and outdoor with potential hazards and noise. Regular travel may be required up to 50% for meetings training or assignments. Travel may last up to two weeks per month usually allowing return home each night. Flexibility may be needed to meet organizational and operational goals. This may include participating in a rotating on-call schedule handling occasional unscheduled issues and adjusting work hours during busy periods. The timing and length of such work varies based on business needs and is incidental to the main exempt duties of the role.
Physical Demands
Maintain a stationary position for long periods while working in an office field or vehicle. Operate vehicles safely by watching surroundings reading signs and staying aware of road conditions. Coordinate movements to control the vehicle and respond quickly to changes in traffic or the environment. Perform tasks that need coordination of several limbs and fine motor skills such as handling grasping and keeping objects steady. Move objects weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds often using proper techniques or mechanical aids. Transition between stationary and other positions as needed during the workday. Access work areas and vehicles in ways that help with job tasks which may require adjusting body position in tight spaces. Respond quickly to environmental cues and stay focused during complex tasks. Use auditory attention to recognize signals alarms and spoken instructions that are important for safety and maintenance. Exchange information clearly in person or by devices even in noisy environments. Maintain focus and alertness for long periods to ensure safety and accuracy. Follow safety rules including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required by Environmental Health and Safety policies.
