Job Summary
Refractory Technicians perform maintenance repair installation and start up of equipment in Steel Mills (Steelworks Steel Works Foundry Furnace Oven) and the manufacture of Steel. These positions are not jobs they are careers. These are full-time direct hire Skilled Trades positions offering Medical Benefits and 401K on day one with paid training and advancement into highly paid union opportunities.
Refractory experience is not required. A RESUME OR JOB HISTORY IS REQUIRED. Qualified candidates will have experience or training that demonstrates some level of mechanical aptitude inclination and skills. These positions require heavy lifting work in high temperature environments and operation of heavy equipment (training available).
Other duties for the Technician include Hilo operation & material handling light construction clean up of project areas and inventory of materials. Availability for any shift is initially required. Shifts vary depending on the production of the steel mill as well as shut-downs turn-arounds upgrades and other scheduled processes. The rewards are worth it!
