Job Summary
The Structural Welder is responsible for welding fabricating and assembling structural steel components in accordance with blueprints specifications and safety standards. This role requires strong welding skills attention to detail and the ability to work in industrial and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural welding using processes such as SMAW (Stick) FCAW (Flux-Core) and GMAW (MIG)
Weld beams columns plates pipes and other structural steel components
Read and interpret blueprints shop drawings and welding symbols
Set up welding equipment and ensure proper settings for materials and procedures
Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
Perform grinding cutting fitting and finishing as needed
Follow all safety procedures including proper use of PPE
Work with supervisors inspectors and other trades to meet project deadlines
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Structural Welder
Proficiency in structural welding processes (Stick Flux-Core MIG)
Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
Knowledge of welding codes and standards (AWS preferred)
Strong understanding of safety practices
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Welding Certification (or ability to pass weld tests)
Experience in construction shipyard refinery or industrial environments
Experience working at heights or in confined spaces
Work Environment
Outdoor and indoor job sites
Exposure to heat sparks and heavy equipment
May require overtime weekends or travel depending on project needs
