If you aim at scientific excellence and want to establish a career as a scientist within supercontinuum fiber lasers and their high-level application within optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging then we have the ideal opportunity for you - come and be a part of one of the worlds strongest groups in this field.
Responsibilities and qualifications
Your specific research area will the design development and characterization of supercontinuum fiber lasers and OCT systems that use these lasers. You will use the OCT scanners to perform a wide variety of OCT scans with particular emphasis on mid-IR OCT and industrial parallel with the hardware development you will work on developing associated intelligent OCT software to improve scanner performance and image quality.
In addition to the research mentioned above you will be expected to supervise both experimental and theoretical postdocs and PhD students working in the field. We therefore require you to have strong experimental qualifications within fiber optics fiber lasers and measurements of fiber loss dispersion and laser intensity noise as well as in supercontinuum based OCT. You must document a drive to build things yourself and finish projects with high-profile publications.
You must contribute to the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages and in time are expected to master both.
As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
You will be assessed against the responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria:
Research experience
Salary and terms of employment
