Job Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates plans and administers therapeutic procedures in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring physician. This role establishes individualized physical therapy goals provides treatments and regularly reassesses patient progress documenting all findings accurately.
Essential Functions
- Conducts thorough physical therapy evaluations to assess patient needs and develops individualized treatment plans.
- Administers safe and effective therapy treatments ensuring all interventions are appropriately documented.
- Reassesses and adjusts treatment plans within appropriate timeframes to align with patient progress and changing needs.
- Provides clear concise and accurate documentation of evaluations treatment plans progress notes and billing information.
- Educates patients and their families on treatment plans therapeutic exercises and post-treatment care to support long-term recovery.
- Operates therapy equipment safely and maintains a clean organized and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborates with referring physicians peers and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
- Demonstrates population-appropriate competencies for all relevant patient demographics tailoring care to individual needs.
- Maintains compliance with facility policies including safety infection control and risk management procedures.
- Adapts to changes professionally and effectively following the chain of command to address and resolve issues impacting patient care.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) required
- 0-2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles therapeutic techniques and safety standards.
- Ability to perform comprehensive evaluations and develop effective treatment plans.
- Proficiency in using therapy equipment and technology for documentation and billing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients families and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and maximize productivity.
- Commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
Licenses and Certifications
- PT - Physical Therapist license in the state of employment required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire required
