Lumino Knox Dental is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team in Dunedin New Zealand on a full-time this role you will provide essential support to our dental professionals while delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will be organized professional and committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient service and infection control.
- Assist dentists during patient examinations and dental procedures ensuring all instruments and materials are readily available
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments according to established protocols
- Greet patients in a friendly and welcoming manner manage patient check-in procedures and maintain accurate patient records using dental software
- Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) following safety guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Provide chairside support during procedures including suctioning retraction and instrument passing
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail when recording patient information treatment notes and billing details
- Ensure the treatment area remains clean organized and compliant with infection control standards
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient communication to optimize clinic workflow
- Support the dental team in maintaining a professional and supportive work environment
Hours for this role :
- Monday6.30am - 1.30pm
- Tuesday7.45am-1.30pm
- Wednesday 7.45am-1.30pm
- Thursday7.45am - 4.30pm
- Friday7.45am - 4.30pm
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in clinical and administrative tasks
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with patient management systems
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and commitment to maintaining professional standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant or in a healthcare setting
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Knowledge of dental terminology procedures and radiography techniques
- Experience with dental practice management software
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Experience in a customer service or patient-facing role
