Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Billing Supervisor to lead our revenue cycle operations. This role oversees patient and third-party billing accounts receivable collections and staff management ensuring compliance with HIPAA and New York State billing regulations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Epic applications ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT coding along with proven supervisory skills in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily billing operations including patient and third-party accounts receivable.
- Train mentor and schedule billing staff to ensure productivity and compliance.
- Review and monitor operational data workflow efficiency and billing accuracy.
- Handle account follow-ups adjustments and payer communications.
- Serve as liaison between management staff and external organizations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA New York State regulations and internal policies.
- Resolve patient billing inquiries and complaints professionally.
- Prepare staff performance evaluations and recommend personnel actions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in healthcare billing or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in Epic applications and medical billing software.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 CPT coding and third-party billing regulations.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS/CCSP) required.
- Strong organizational communication and leadership skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform routine office activities; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Work primarily indoors with standard office equipment.
