Water Resources Engineer (PE) Stormwater & Drainage
Location: Herndon VA Experience: 410 Years Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a mid-level Water Resources Engineer to join our growing Herndon VA team. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer with strong experience in stormwater management drainage design and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling for Virginia transportation and municipal projects. Youll work within a collaborative multi-disciplinary civil engineering office and have a clear path to technical leadership and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design drainage systems stormwater management and erosion & sediment control plans
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (TR-55 TR-20 Rational Method HEC-RAS HY-8 HydroCAD)
- Conduct watershed studies and H&H analyses
- Prepare plans reports specifications and cost estimates
- Coordinate with VDOT local/state agencies clients and contractors
- Mentor junior engineers and support construction phase services
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 410 years of Water Resources engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia or the ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proven experience in stormwater management drainage and erosion & sediment control
- Strong knowledge of Virginia stormwater regulations
- Proficiency with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer HEC-RAS PCSWMM HY-8 HydroCAD
- Experience working with local and state clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Virginia DEQ Stormwater Management Administrator certification
- Familiarity with VDOT and LAP projects
- GIS experience
