Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Body Builder / Boilermaker to join our workshop team. This hands-on role involves fabrication repair restoration and modification of trucks restored vehicles and commercial trailers. The role also includes general yard and workshop duties as required. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in metal fabrication welding and vehicle body construction with a strong focus on quality workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate assemble and install vehicle bodies for trucks and commercial trailers
- Carry out restoration work on classic and custom vehicles including structural and cosmetic repairs
- Perform welding (MIG TIG Stick) on steel aluminium and other materials
- Repair and modify chassis frames trays bodies and trailer components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings plans and job specifications
- Fit accessories including toolboxes gates tie rails mudguards and underbody components
- Conduct inspections to identify faults wear or damage and recommend repairs
- Maintain high-quality finishes and attention to detail across all builds and restorations
- Perform general yard duties including cleaning organising moving equipment and assisting with workshop setup as required
- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards and relevant vehicle regulations
- Maintain a clean organised and safe workshop and yard environment
- Liaise with supervisors and team members to meet deadlines and job requirements
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker Vehicle Body Builder or equivalent
- Proven experience working on trucks trailers and/or vehicle restorations
- Strong welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Sound knowledge of workshop safety practices
- Current drivers licence (HR/MR licence desirable but not essential)
Personal Attributes
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong work ethic and pride in workmanship
- Team player with good communication skills
- Adaptable and willing to work across a variety of vehicle types projects and general yard/workshop duties
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with aluminum fabrication
