EYFS Teaching Assistant – Enfield

We are seeking a caring enthusiastic and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education supporting young children in developing key skills and a love of learning during their first year(s) at school.

The school has a strong Early Years Foundation Stage provision offering a safe nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Staff work collaboratively to ensure children are supported academically socially and emotionally and the leadership team places a high value on staff wellbeing and professional development.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher to support daily learning activities. You will provide 1:1 or small-group support assist with lesson preparation and help create a structured positive and inclusive classroom environment. Your role will be essential in ensuring children feel confident engaged and motivated to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the EYFS teacher in delivering daily lessons and activities

• Provide 1:1 or small-group support to children as required

• Assist in planning and preparing engaging play-based learning activities

• Observe and record childrens development to inform planning and assessment

• Encourage positive behaviour independence and confidence

• Support daily routines including snack times outdoor play and personal care

• Promote social interaction communication skills and emotional development

• Work collaboratively with EYFS colleagues and other school staff

• Maintain a safe inclusive and stimulating learning environment

• Follow safeguarding health and safety and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience working with young children ideally in an EYFS or nursery setting

• Be patient caring and enthusiastic

• Have a good understanding of early childhood development

• Be proactive adaptable and reliable

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
