Job Summary

Position Title: Director Operations

Department: Management

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer Location: Mumbai-Head Office

Employment Type: On-Role-Full Time

Job Overview:

The Director Operations is a key executive position responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operational functions of a company. The director works closely with the CEO and other senior leadership to implement and execute the companys strategic goals driving operational excellence and ensuring efficiency across all departments. The director is typically in charge of the internal operations ensuring smooth processes optimizing resources and maintaining high standards of performance across various business functions

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to set the overall strategy for the company ensuring alignment with long-term goals and vision.
    • Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance the companys efficiency growth and profitability.
    • Drive performance improvement across all business functions focusing on operational excellence cost-effectiveness and safety.

  1. Operations Management:
    • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of solar EPC projects ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of solar installations from design to commissioning.
    • Lead the planning execution and optimization of operational processes ensuring the highest standards of quality safety and environmental sustainability.
    • Supervise and manage key departments including project management engineering construction and operations C maintenance (OCM).
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of operations and identify areas for continuous improvement.

  1. Team Leadership:
    • Build and lead a high-performing operations team fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and innovation.
    • Develop training and development programs to enhance the skills of team members ensuring they remain up to date with industry trends technologies and best practices.
    • Promote a positive and safe work environment aligning with the companys values and commitment to employee well-being.

  1. Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the operational budget ensuring cost control and maximizing resource allocation for optimal profitability.
    • Provide regular reporting and analysis on operational performance to the CEO and board of directors highlighting achievements challenges and potential opportunities for growth.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or safety standards.

  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders including clients contractors suppliers and regulatory authorities.
    • Lead contract negotiations ensuring favorable terms and compliance with industry standards regulations and timelines.
    • Represent the company in industry forums events and strategic partnerships.

  1. Project Oversight s Risk Management:
    • Ensure that all projects meet budget timeline and quality targets.
    • Proactively identify potential risks in project execution and operational processes implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal regulatory and environmental requirements relevant to solar EPC projects.

  1. Technology s Innovation:
    • Champion the adoption of new technologies tools and systems to streamline operations and improve project delivery.
    • Ensure the company stays at the forefront of technological advancements in the solar energy sector including innovations in solar panels battery storage and smart grid technologies.
Qualifications s Experience:
  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field. Masters degree or MBA preferred.

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Project and operations management with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role within the solar energy construction or EPC industry.
    • Proven experience in managing large-scale solar EPC projects from inception to commissioning.
    • Strong understanding of solar technologies energy systems and renewable energy trends.
    • Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional projects.
    • Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiencies cost control and profitability improvements.
    • Experience in financial management and budgeting.

  • Skills s Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire mentor and lead a diverse workforce.
    • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
    • Advanced project management and organizational skills with a focus on delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
