As a tenure-track Department member the successful candidate will teach introductory and upper-division undergraduate courses in statistics as well as graduate courses in statistical theory and applications to a mix of majors and non-majors. The typical teaching load will be 4 courses per 9 month academic year. Research in statistical theory and/or applications that meets national and international standards is expected including publication of peer-reviewed articles books and monographs. The goal of quality research is most important but sustained production is also expected. For applicants with an applied research area collaboration with a broader research community is appropriate and encouraged. Presentation of research at conferences and workshops is expected and pursuit of competitive grants is encouraged.
To thrive in this position a candidate must be self-motivated invested in nurturing the abilities and academic development of students at all levels and committed to publishing research in statistics and related areas. An ideal candidate will have experience working with a diverse student population an understanding of how to teach courses effectively and develop new curricula and a desire to advance the frontiers of knowledge in statistical theory and application.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related field by July 1 2026.

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha campus in Fairbanks AK. This is a full-time 9-month base appointment FLSA exempt faculty position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
