Job Summary

UAAs Enrollment Services provide students visitors faculty and staff with one-stop quality customer service by sharing accurate information and knowledge in the areas of admissions residency financial aid registration and graduation. The UAA Student Ambassador will report to the Assistant Director of Recruitment and the Campus Tour Coordinator. They will work as the primary first tier support to ensure that students have exceptional customer service experiences and showcase the strengths and resources of campus while giving tours to potential students. This position is expected to have broad knowledge of our programs and processes while engaging in meaningful customer interactions. Furthermore the position is responsible for checking in and assisting students troubleshooting student issues and imaging documents. Student Ambassadors may have additional tasks to help with recruitment events and needs.

We are looking for motivated team-oriented individuals with outstanding customer service and organization skills and the ability to learn understand and relay complex policy and process to prospective and current UAA students.

Enrollment Services comprises of Admissions Financial Aid Military & Veteran Student Services and the Registrar. Student Ambassadors help welcome students into our office and help promote UAA through tours and events.

UAA Student Ambassadors must be enthusiastic and dependable supporters of UAA and out mission to recruit and retain students. They should be willing to work with a diverse student population. Student Ambassadors should posses organizational active listening and problem solving skills as well the ability to display enthusiasm passions and energy about being a student at UAA.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be eligible for student employment in Student Engagement and Inclusion an applicant must: a. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or b. Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and c. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee. d. Students enrolled in non-traditional programs of study will be considered eligible for student employment with the approval of the Senior Student Services officer. e. An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.

Preference will be given to those with computer skills and data entry experience preferred and/or customer service experience.

Position Details:

This position is open to undergraduate students only.

This position is located at the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. This is a part-time non-exempt student position up to 20 hours a week with starting pay of $15.57 per hour.
