Role Summary
TheAccounting Manageroversees month-end and period-end close activities across General Ledger and platform accounting functions ensuring accurate financial reporting strong internal controls and timely close execution in ahigh-volume telecommunications and digital media environment. This role provides leadership across multiple accounting areas including operating expenses and accrualsdigital media and marketing spend payroll fixed assets leases capitalized software customer cash and other complex transactions typical of a large consumer telecom organization.
The role acts as a key liaison betweenControllership FP&A Media Finance and cross-functional business teams driving consistency compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and managemonth-end and quarter-end closeactivities across assigned accounting areas ensuring adherence to close calendars quality standards and SLAs.
Review and approvejournal entries reconciliations and supporting schedules providing oversight and technical guidance to staff accountants.
Ensure completeness and accuracy ofbalance sheet accounts driving timely resolution of reconciling items.
Perform and reviewfinancial variance analysis partnering with FP&A and business stakeholders to explain drivers and trends.
Oversee accounting activities related todigital media and marketing spend technology costs and operational expenses.
Manage audit support forinternal and external audits including SOX compliance walkthroughs and control testing.
Partner cross-functionally withMedia Finance Procurement Tax Payroll Treasury Legal and Internal Auditto resolve complex or cross-team accounting matters.
Identify escalate and resolvecomplex accounting issues applying judgment and ensuring alignment with accounting policies.
Driveprocess improvement standardization and automation initiativesto improve efficiency accuracy and close cycle times.
Maintain and enhanceprocess documentation desktop procedures and control documentation.
Coach mentor and develop accounting staff promoting strong execution accountability and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
7 years of progressive experience in accounting or Record-to-Report roles.
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Strong knowledge ofGL close processes and balance sheet governance.
Proven experience reviewing journal entries reconciliations and variance analyses.
Hands-on experience withERP and close/reporting toolssuch as SAP Oracle NetSuiteBlackLine orTrintech.
Experience supportingSOX/internal controlsand managing internal and external audits.
Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience intelecom digital media marketing spend or large enterprise environmentspreferred.
Experience drivingprocess improvement automation or transformation initiatives.
