Job SummaryThe Support Specialist III - Quality & Outcomes provides high-level coordination and operational support for departmental patient safety and quality initiatives with a strong focus on reliable workflows that reduce variation improve outcomes and enhance the patient experience. This role works closely with frontline staff in clinic removing barriers helping patients successfully engage in their care tasks and ensuring that quality processes are completed accurately and on position functions as a quality coordinator for orthopedic Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) ensuring compliance with CMS requirements maintaining high survey capture rates and supporting improved patient outcomes and reimbursement through accurate and timely quality data.
Essential Functions:
- PROMs Tracking & Scheduling: Monitor clinic and surgical schedules to identify eligible Total Hip Arthroplasty and Total Knee Arthroplasty patients for CMS-required surveys. Create and maintain a longitudinal tracking calendar for pre-op and post-op PROMs up to 1 year after surgery. Generate reminders and alerts for care teams to prevent missed survey windows and ensure timely outreach. (35%)
- Patient Engagement & Quality Support: Support patients in completing PROMs and other quality surveys while in clinic; provide guidance and troubleshooting as needed. Conduct follow-up phone calls and digital outreach to promote timely survey submission and strong capture rates. Collaborate with physicians APPs and MAs to reduce burden on frontline teams. (35%)
- Data Accuracy Reporting & Documentation: Enter patient-reported outcome data quality indicators and contact logs into internal databases with strong accuracy and timeliness. Monitor and track capture performance; escalate barriers to leadership to support continuous improvement. Assist in preparing quality reports for CMS validation internal dashboards and leadership decision-making. (30%)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- 4-6 years clerical or administrative experience required. Required
Licenses:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to organize work day in order to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn new techniques methods and participate in a new program and other system changes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal human relation skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of databases sufficient to be able to research analyze and report.
- Skill in filling out forms and completing paperwork relative to the work assignment.
- Ability to create store edit format print and revise tables reports forms labels and other printed material using the available software.
- Recognizes initiates and leads improvement efforts through initiative judgment tact and discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Smartsheet experience desirable but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately follow instructions/schedules timelines and work independently.
