Position Summary: Working in conjunction with the Payment Processing team the Accounting Analyst is responsible for reconciling researching and resolving daily customer payment activity. This role ensures the accuracy of financial transactions supports timely reporting and contributes to the integrity of the companys accounting records. The Accounting Analyst also identifies discrepancies collaborates with internal teams to resolve issues and supports continuous improvement in financial operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and resolve customer payment application discrepancies on a daily basis ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of customer cash receipts playing a key role in maintaining financial integrity.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses related to customer payment activity as directed by management.
  • Develop and maintain schedules that track the progress of customer payment receipts and postings.
  • Communicate frequently with internal departments to gather necessary information and resolve issues.
  • Ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures including compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in corporate accounting or payment processing with a strong focus on cash receipts.
  • Proficient in account reconciliations and financial data validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and identify discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.

Skills Required:

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos; capable of writing clear and concise communications.
    • Strong math aptitude including the ability to add subtract multiply and divide using whole numbers fractions and decimals; able to explain simple interest loan calculations.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
    • High attention to detail with the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines; strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; beginner-level experience with data query tools such as SQL Server.

  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta GA; Dallas TX; Houston TX; Detroit MI; Phoenix AZ.

Qualifications Preferred:

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully an individual should have beginning to intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including MS Word MS Excel and MS Outlook.

While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time use hands and arms to operate office equipment including but not limited to a keyboard mouse and phone will occasionally need to reach stoop stand or walk. The employee must be able to see (close vision) hear speak and communicate verbally. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Schedule This position requires the ability to work various shifts to accommodate business needs. Typically between the hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed. Travel is required 10% of the time.
