The Work:

• Reviews patient history and physicians orders

• Educates patient regarding procedures equipment and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation

• When ordered prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice

• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate

• Prepares equipment and supplies

• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment

• Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)

• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues including repositioning patient and repeating procedure

• Enters transmits and reports exam findings

• Rotate to other MaineGeneral Imaging sites as needed/scheduled

You Have:

• Active registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) required

• Current State of Maine License for Radiological Technology/Radiographer (RT) required

• 1 or more year of previous experience including Mammography experience preferred but willing to train

• Mammography certification (ARRT) required within 1 year

• Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision

• Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors
