Therapeutic Special Education Teacher: (RISE program)
- Ability to develop and implement effective individualized instructional plans developed in accordance with the goals and objectives on the students IEP.
- Has a thorough knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and uses these frameworks effectively in the development of curriculum instruction.
- Has a thorough working knowledge of assessment strategies and uses this knowledge in an ongoing manner to effectively plan from day to day.
- Collects ongoing data and understands the need for thorough and instructive documentation.
- Readily shares this relevant information with other team members and parents to maximize every possible learning opportunity for the child.
- Has an understanding and a desire to use a participative classroom management model that effectively involves all the stakeholders in the process of planning and implementation.
- Has a thorough knowledge of the part clinical support services play in all the overall education of these students and is able to effectively integrate support services into the planning and delivery of instruction on a daily basis.
- Strives in every way to create and maintain a safe nurturing environment for every student
- Provides training supervision and support for paraprofessionals
- Candidates must be able to work with students with significantly challenging Internalizing and Externalizing emotions combining behavioral approaches through a therapeutic lens.
Qualifications:
- MA DESE License in Moderate Disabilities
- Gr 5-12 Experience with Autism and/or Therapeutic settings.
- Experience with conducting assessments and evaluations.

Salary:
$135/Day - Retired Teacher w/ DESE Certification
$125/Day DESE Teaching Certification
$100/Day No Certification
If a substitute holds a Bachelors degree or a Teaching License and they serve in the same assignment for a 30 consecutive work day probationary period they are eligible to have their pay rate increased to a per diem rate of $210/day for the remainder of their current assignment; pay returns to the daily rate at the conclusion of their assignment; however if they move to another long-term assignment within a month they do not have to restart the probationary period again and may continue receiving the per diem rate. Requests to move to the per diem rate at the end of probationary period must be made to and confirmation will be submitted to payroll.
