Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
Locate and track the drill head using electronic locating equipment to guide HDD operations
Interpret bore plans utility maps and depth requirements to ensure accurate installation
Communicate real-time depth pitch and direction adjustments to the drill operator
Identify and avoid existing underground utilities in accordance with one-call and safety procedures
Monitor drilling conditions and alert the crew to potential risks or deviations
Assist with job-site setup potholing and verification of utility locations
Maintain accurate records of bore paths depths and as-built information
Follow all company OSHA and job-site safety policies
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience locating for HDD operations preferably in telecommunications
Proficiency with locating systems and HDD guidance equipment
Strong understanding of underground utility practices and damage prevention
Ability to read and interpret bore profiles and construction plans
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and job-site conditions
Physical & Work Environment:
Frequent standing walking bending and lifting
Exposure to outdoor environments noise and construction-related hazards
Use of required PPE at all times
Must be willing to work overtime as dictated by workload volumes.
