Job Overview
The Welcome Center Part-time Family Liaison is part of the Welcome Centers Enrollment Support Team. The Part-time Family Liaison is responsible for supporting the work of the teams full-time staff primarily by helping families navigate their Welcome Center appointments and connecting those families to resources within LCPS.
Roles and Responsibilities
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.
- Help create a warm and welcoming environment at the Welcome Center
- Assist full-time staff by providing school and community resources to families and assist families with applying for various LCPS services as appropriate
- Assist with creation of ParentVue accounts
- Attend Enrollment Support CLTs and stay abreast of Welcome Center processes and procedures
- Assist with other Enrollment Support Team and Welcome Center projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
- High School diploma or GED required
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English and another language
- Ability to make all families feel welcome in the school and the community
- Ability to work efficiently and with accuracy
- Exceptional customer support skills
- Ability to ensure confidentiality discretion and sensitivity to diverse family situations
Physical Requirements
The following provides a brief description of physical requirements for this job:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly talking expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.

Salary Scale: $21.22 hourly

Working Locations are: Welcome Center West (407 E Market St. Leesburg VA) & Welcome Center East (101 Enterprise St. Sterling VA)
Preferred hours are 9:00am - 2:30pm M-F
