About This Role

The Global Medical Affairs Director Epilepsy will be a strategic partner providing expert medical leadership to guide development launch planning and support for zorevunersen to improve meaningful patient outcomes. Zorevunersen is a late-stage clinical investigational compound co-developed with Stoke Therapeutics. As a key member of the Global Medical Director office team the Medical Director supports the development and implementation of the Global Medical Strategy for Biogens Epilepsy therapeutic area assets.

What Youll Do

  • Develop and implement the global Epilepsy medical strategy and tactics in collaboration with regional/country and cross-functional teams.
  • Build and maintain close partnership with Epilepsy key medical experts and healthcare providers to bring insights into the Global Medical affairs strategy.
  • Lead the planning development execution of high-impact medical activities such as advisory boards to gather clinical insights. Lead development and execution of Global Medical stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Represent Global Medical at cross-functional forms. Provide expert medical input to guide clinical development comprehensive evidence generation and launch planning in Epilepsy.
  • Partner with scientific communications to shape and deliver the strategic scientific narrative.
  • Review medical content key manuscripts and publications acting as primary sign off where needed. Serve as a credible and trusted partner to our alliance colleagues.
  • Deliver medical presentations at internal training external congresses and other key events when needed.
  • Create positive team climate in alignment with Biogens culture.

Who You Are

You are a scientific and/or clinical professional with a passion for science and a deep scientific knowledge of Epilepsy & Rare Diseases. You are a strong communicator and collaborator you keep patients payers and physicians top of mind in your daily work and collaborate to solve critical scientific and business challenges. You are willing to travel 25% -30% of your time to engage with external stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Advanced degree required: MD preferred PhD or PharmD
  • Minimum 8 years experience in Medical Affairs - Relevant experience in Pediatric Rare Diseases & Epilepsy required
  • Experience working on alliance partnership
  • Experience and expertise in developing communicating and executing comprehensive medical affairs strategy
  • Demonstrated the ability to build productive collaborations with medical experts and existing relationships in the Epilepsy & Rare Disease areas
  • Strong working knowledge of US and ex-US regulations as relevant to Medical Affairs
  • Ability to be agile a self-starter and comfortable operating at times in a setting of ambiguity
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal (interpersonal and presentations) and written
  • Proven track record of delivering results that meet or exceed targeted objectives
  • Ability to travel 25 30%
