About Vermont Achievement Center Vermont Achievement Center Inc. a 501(c) 3 charitable organization has been serving the needs of children and families throughout the Rutland region and Vermont since 1937. VAC continues to offer innovative and responsive programs in special education early education and childcare as well as water safety and aqua therapy. The programs provided by VAC have touched the lives of more than 7000 children and families throughout our region over the the roleThe Director of EEC is responsible for the overall planning and operations of the Program that is licensed for 100 children ages 6 weeks-12 years while highlighting the importance of quality childcare and family involvement. We are seeking a passionate experienced Director of Early Education and Care to lead rebuild and expand our growing program. This role calls for a confident decisive leader who isnt afraid to make tough calls set high standards and bring structure accountability and vision to a program ready for transformation. The ideal candidate will have the experience courage and leadership presence to roll up their sleeves inspire staff rebuild strong foundations and guide the program into its next phase of growth and and maintain compliance with State of Vermont licensing regulations. Support the program philosophy motivate staff and encourage positive morale with an open-door with external local agencies to provide quality care and represent the program to the interviews hire and terminate staff; supervise and mentor teachers assistants substitutes and volunteers; perform annual job performance reviews and develop improvement plans for unsatisfactory and participate in staff training sessions professional development and special family with internal staff to prepare the annual budget oversee expenditures and petty cash coordinate meal planning and manage work requirementsMust be a qualified teacher with at least 24 months of experience with children in grade three or of Vermont Early Childhood and Afterschool Program Director Step Two Certificate Step Three Credential or equivalent college completion of a 3-credit course in curriculum and an additional 9 credits in program management or related to make swift decisions and respond effectively in dynamic program successes and weaknesses and implement and develop staff be able to lift 25 lbs.A current valid drivers license is required for operating company vehicles and transporting goods equipment personnel or students as part of job must successfully pass a comprehensive background check to ensure the safety and well-being of students and compliance with school and daycare to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
