Request for Proposals: Podcast Editor/Producer

We are seeking proposals from qualified audio and podcast editors or agencies to edit and produce an initial six episode pilot series for MHETs climate justice podcast Energy Tea. The podcast will connect energy and climate justice topics and news with candid honest and entertaining conversations between the two hosts and each episodes guest. This role will turn long-form recorded conversations into engaging entertaining and informative podcast episodes.
Mid-Hudson Energy Transition seeks to enter a non-exclusive project-based agreement with a qualified contractor to provide the following services:
- Edit 6075 minute raw recordings into polished 3545 minute podcast episodes
- Clean and mix audio for clarity and consistency
- Remove long pauses false starts technical glitches and distractions
- Maintain natural pacing and tone
- Preserve laughter reactions curiosity and moments of genuine thinking
- Integrate recurring podcast segments smoothly and thoughtfully
- Balance multiple voices (2 hosts guest) with care and intention
- Normalize loudness to podcast platform standards
- Deliver files on agreed timelines and formats
Proposal Requirements
To be considered interested applicants must submit:
- Experience/Qualifications: Provide a resume or company profile outlining relevant experience.
- Highlight experience working with nonprofits if applicable.
- Portfolio: Include examples of work showcasing quality preferably aligned with the scope of services listed.
- Proposed Approach: Share a brief description of your creative process and how you will collaborate with Mid-Hudson Energy Transition
- Fee Structure: Clearly outline rates whether hourly per project or as a retainer and include any anticipated expenses.
- References: Provide contact information for at least two recent clients.
Selection Criteria
Mid-Hudson Energy Transition will evaluate proposals based on:
- Competitive pricing that aligns with MHETs budget
- Proven experience editing conversational podcasts
- Strong sense of narrative flow and conversational rhythm
- Excellent audio cleanup and mixing skills
- Comfort working with remote recordings
- Ability to take light editorial direction while exercising independent judgment
- Respect for community-based storytelling and justice-oriented work
- Reliable communicative and deadline-conscious
- Understanding and alignment with MHETs mission and values
