Job Summary
Under general supervision the Training Center Coordinator serves as the operational and compliance coordinator for the Denver Health and Hospital Authority American Heart Association Training Center. This role is responsible for end-to-end oversight of AHA programs instructors and training sites including regulatory compliance instructor alignment data analysis and leadership communication. The position requires independent judgment decision-making and ownership of outcomes as well as the ability to synthesize data into actionable recommendations and mitigation plans. The incumbent must be qualified to teach and monitor all AHA courses including BLS ACLS and PALS.
This is an hourly non-exempt position. Pay range: $26 - $40/hour
Essential Functions:
- Program Oversight Accountability and Compliance
Provides operational oversight of the AHA Training Center ensuring compliance with AHA ECC Program requirements.
Maintains accountability for instructor alignment training site compliance certification integrity and reporting accuracy.
Reviews program data and identifies trends gaps or risks requiring action.
Develops and implements mitigation plans for compliance quality or operational issues.
Ensures assigned initiatives and corrective actions are completed through final resolution.
(30%) - Leadership Communication and Decision-Making
Uses structured communication frameworks (e.g. SBAR) to communicate issues recommendations and decisions.
Determines whether information is shared for awareness only or requires action or escalation.
Provides leadership with concise summaries recommendations and timelines.
Serves as the primary liaison between Denver Health and Hospital Authority AHA ECC Programs instructors and training sites.
(20%) - Instruction Instructor Development and Course Monitoring
Teaches and monitors all AHA courses including BLS ACLS and PALS as lead or assistant instructor.
Conducts Instructor Essentials courses and instructor updates.
Provides coaching remediation and monitoring of instructors to ensure quality and compliance.
Ensures student outcomes and certification success rates meet or exceed benchmarks.
(20%) - Data Management Reporting and Evaluation
Maintains accurate training certification instructor and monitoring records.
Analyzes certification rates instructor compliance and training outcomes.
Prepares reports and summaries to support leadership decision-making.
Ensures timely submission of required AHA documentation and reports.
(15%) - Technical and Systems Proficiency
Demonstrates functional proficiency in Outlook Webex SharePoint OneDrive Excel and learning management systems.
Applies technology tools to organize work track deadlines and manage deliverables.
Uses systems to improve efficiency visibility and follow-through.

Education:
- Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program licensure or certification health care related field Required
Work Experience:
- 1-3 years Experience teaching AHA courses and working within AHA Training Center Required
Licenses:
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required and
- BLSI-Basic Life Support Instructor - AHA - American Heart Association Required
- ACLSI-Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor - AHA - American Heart Association
- PALSI-Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor - AHA - American Heart Association
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to independently synthesize data and determine appropriate action.
- Ability to manage projects from initiation through completion.
- Ability to communicate concisely with leadership stakeholders and students.
- Strong organizational prioritization and follow-through skills.
- Ability to identify operational or compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally in writing and using electronic media.
- Ability to teach monitor and evaluate adult learners in high-reliability environments.
- Ability to design and implement student progress evaluations including written tests and practical exams.
- Knowledge of a variety of audio/visual aids for the classroom setting.
