POSITION SUMMARY:
The Instructional Network Technician is responsible for installing maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware software networks and other devices while providing outstanding customer service to faculty staff and other Haven Schools stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains all aspects of the Havens technological equipment including but not limited to: desktop and laptop computers cell phones and other mobile devices monitors televisions projectors printers network equipment etc.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of computer hardware and software belonging to the organization.
- Ensures equipment is disposed of securely and in compliance with all local state and federal laws.
- Disseminates technology-related information to the Technology Director as well as all other IT support personnel employed by Haven Schools.
- Remains technically competent. Continues to grow as an IT support technician by keeping up with emerging technologies in the educational field.
- Assists faculty and staff with technical issues while maintaining a calm and positive attitude.
- Installs upgrades and manages software programs and ensures their integrity within the local server as well as individual computers. Software programs include but are not limited to:
- Windows 10 & 11
- macOS/iOS
- ChromeOS
- Windows Server 2019
- Microsoft Office 365
- Google Workspace for Education
- Google Mail and associated programs
- WoW Phone systems
- Active Directory
- Sherpa Desk Ticketing System
- Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V)
- Coordinates and/or provides IT support for various special events at Haven Schools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Associates degree in computer science or related course of study (preferred).
- 2 year(s) prior experience in a technology-related field (preferred).
- General knowledge information security practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task when necessary.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
- Ability to read understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain strict organization and student confidentiality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Varied activities including sitting standing walking bending lifting crawling climbing and reaching for extended periods of time.
- Frequent need to lift carry push or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds. Periodic need to perform a two-person lift on objects over 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is generally performed in a fast-paced high volume school/office environment.
- Must be able to tolerate varying environmental conditions including but not limited to heat and cold.
- Must be able to tolerate frequent interruptions from students staff members and others.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional travel between Haven Schools campuses may be required.
