Job Description:

The Microchip SCG Security Compliance Engineer will work with all business unit (BU) domains to develop implement and oversee BU security policies and manage specific product security certification expectations and activities. This includes assurance that the organization meets security standards and is responsible for audits training staff and generating reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a BU Security Steering Committee driving security expectations for the Business Unit(BU).
  • Audit BU domains for compliance with security processes.
  • Manage BU external security audits and associated contracts for security certifications such as Common Criteria and FIPS 140-3.
  • Manage formal product security certification activity within the BU. Manage collateral collation confirming content and expectations.
  • Manage communication between BU domains evaluation labs and internal QA.
  • Proficient at reading specification language and translating it into common practices.
  • Knowledgeable of security scheme expectations.
  • Guide BU domains on;
    • Protocol expectations.
    • How to document / present collateral.
    • Process of certification.
    • Contracts with 3rd party labs and evaluators.
    • Putting proper processes in place.
  • Audit BU domains for regular compliance to process.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering business or related field
  • 5-6 years of direct experience in compliance quality or related field
  • Ability to learn and ensure BU compliance with various industry standards.
  • Must possess excellent language organization and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Atlassian Confluence.
  • Proven track record of managing successful external audits.
  • Familiar with cybersecurity schemes such as FIPS 140-3 Common Criteria TARA ISO 21434 CRA.

The annual base salary range for this position which could be performed in the US is $68640 - $205000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location skills and experience.
