Job Summary

Umhlanga. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant with BCom and ideally articles to join a well-established group operating in property development and management of retail commercial industrial and logistics properties. This role is suited to a conscientious professional experience in management accounts who thrives in a structured environment and takes pride in accuracy and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform accounting duties including the review and preparation of reconciliations
Prepare and submit various financial reports within required deadlines
Review financial documents to ensure tax and other statutory compliance
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to accounting standards

Key Requirements:

BCom Degree in Accounting or higher
Completed articles will be advantageous
35 years experience in a similar accounting role
Property industry experience preferred but not essential
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices

High attention to detail and accuracy
Conscientious hardworking and reliable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
High levels of drive initiative and personal motivation

IT / Software Skills:

Advanced Excel skills (essential)
Pastel Accounting (essential)
MDA (advantageous but not required)
Sage VIP (advantageous but not required)
SARS eFiling experience (advantageous but not required)
