Job Summary
Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a PRN / Limbo Security Guard to join our team!
- Perform a variety of security duties to protect the safety and property of residents employees and the facility.
- Patrol parking lots property and buildings to ensure their security.
- Check automobiles on site for improper parking and display of registration decals; issue tickets for vehicle violations. Maintain traffic control for special events.
- Respond to fire and intrusion alarms. Check alarm system and related emergency equipment. Participate in fire drills. Coordinate monthly fire extinguisher inspection and other preventive maintenance on the fire/safety system.
- Provide information and direction to employees visitors and the general public.
- Assist in the investigation preparation and analysis of incident reports.
- Assist nursing staff with resident emergencies transferring lab specimens to hospital for lab work and setting up oxygen tanks. Follow-up calls placed to residents who do not respond.
- Provide assistance to residents and employees with locked car doors. Jump-start dead car batteries and pump flat tires for residents and employees as needed.
- Assist maintenance personnel in securing grounds of unwanted stray or wild animals using appropriate safety procedures.
- Provide assistance as needed for Reception Desk receptionist/switchboard operator including copying Update answering telephones delivering packages to employees and residents referring messages to appropriate departments etc.
- Remove and salt snow from sidewalks as necessary.
- Place core locks on residents apartment doors while on leave. Replace core door locks as assigned. Cut new keys as assigned.
- Assist van driver with maintaining company vehicles.
- Maintain security uniform.
- Provide secure entrance and exit for community funeral home services.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent driving record
- CPR/AED Certified or ability to obtain upon hire
- Prior experience is preferred but not required
- Must be ambulatory for up to 12 hours and physically active
