Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Patient Financial Services the position will support managers and teams with financial and revenue cycle analysis insurance reimbursement analysis denial analysis business pro-forma creation management and maintenance of vendor products and other needed analyst and revenue cycle work. This position can be called on to distribute monthly financial/Revenue Cycle reports and participate in/run denial and other revenue cycle related meetings.
This role will require extensive knowledge of financial systems pro-forma preparation insurance reimbursement insurance denial codes revenue cycle budgets and other financial areas. Role needs to have ability to obtain manipulate and managed a wide range of data to provide requested outcomes. Role also requires understanding the financial impact of managed care contracting and supporting all financial databases in order to produce accurate reporting regarding reimbursement outcomes.
Skills:
- Strong organizational stills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to various programs/systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to identify and solve problems independently.
- Ability to type and use telephone.
- Ability to assess and observe patients; communicate face to face and via telephone with patients patient families physicians and co-workers.
Education:
- AA required/Bachelors degree strongly preferred. Areas of focus could include Accounting Business or hospital administration.
Licensures/Certifications:
- HFMA Certification preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in health care delivery system required.
- Experience in accounting health insurance and managed care product administration may be substituted for health care delivery system experience.
