We are looking for an Underwriter to join our Nordic Accident & Health (A&H) team in Stockholm. Sweden is currently the second-largest market in our Nordic cluster and we see massive potential for further growth. We need you to help us capture it.

In this role you take full ownership of your own portfolio of commercial clients (primarily SME). You build direct relationships with Swedish brokers and partner with senior colleagues on complex multinational accounts.

Your impact and responsibilities

Your role is a mix of independent portfolio management and collaborative underwriting on larger deals. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Underwriting & Risk Assessment: Evaluating risks and setting terms for renewals and new business primarily within the SME segment.

• Broker Relationships: Acting as a key contact point for brokers in the Swedish market ensuring AIG is top-of-mind when they place business.

• Commercial Execution: Helping to grow our pipeline by identifying opportunities and delivering quick commercially sound solutions.

• Complex Case Support: Partnering with Senior Underwriters on large multinational accounts giving you exposure to the most complex parts of our business.

• Problem Solving: Taking ownership of underwriting challenges and resolving them professionally to ensure smooth operations.

What youll need to succeed

You are structured analytical and enjoy the commercial side of insurance. We believe you are a match if you:

• Have experience in the insurance industry (e.g. as an Assistant Underwriter Broker support or Claims handler). Experience with A&H is a plus but not a requirement.

• Are fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken). This is non-negotiable as you will handle local contracts and global guidelines.

• Have a commercial mindset and you understand that underwriting is also about service and relationships.

• Are a team player and comfortable working independently but know when to ask for sparring.

• Have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

You will report to Cecilie Mogensen Nordic Underwriting Manager A&H. The Nordic Accident & Health team consists of 30 professionals focusing on Group and Individual A&H. We prioritize collaboration strategic alignment and shared success working closely with Affinity Distribution and Claims to deliver the best solutions for our clients.
