Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Masters degree or higher from a recognized accredited college or univeristy;
  2. Certification in special education;
  3. Valid Texas Administrators certification
  4. Minimum of four (4) years of sucessfull experience as a classroom teacher;
  5. Demonstrated skill in leading motivating and cooperating with others.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 193 days

SALARY:

$66267 (IA-3)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Collaborate with general and special education teachers school administrators and parents to provide educational support for students with disabilities.
  2. Serve as a liaison between the campus and district.
  3. Provide technical assistance to instructional staff concerning the teaching/learning process.
  4. Mentor teachers in implementing individual student accommodations and modifications as designed by IEP committees.
  5. Collaborate with teachers and assistant principals in designing effective behavioral and academic interventions for students.
  6. Schedule staffings to support and resolve student teacher or parental concerns.
  7. Serve as an administrative representative for IEP meetings as requested by the campus principal.
  8. Assist with organizing the state assessment process for students receiving special education services.
  9. Monitor progress of the implementation of the STAAR-Alternative.
  10. Attend regularly scheduled special education staff meetings.
  11. Keep abreast of current issues and methodologies on progamming models in educating students with disabilities.
  12. Collect data on student progress and ensure data is reflectied in online data management system as required.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned
  14. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
