Position Summary:

The Head of Strategic Growth APAC reports directly to the APAC Head of Region and is a member of the APAC Commercial Leadership Team. This role is responsible for creating and implementing growth strategiesboth short-term and long-termtailored to specialty segments in alignment with global and regional priorities. The position carries clear accountability for revenue outcomes across defined growth segments and is focused on driving execution not advisory input.

The Head of Strategic Growth will lead and coordinate functional and cross-functional teams dedicated to executing strategic initiatives that deliver high-impact growth in APAC including but not limited to large national genomics programs regional segment leadership and channel partnerships. This role works in close collaboration with GMs and senior leaders across the commercial organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement growth strategies for short-term and long-term objectives tailored to each specialty segment and aligned with global and regional priorities.
  • Drive execution of these strategies in close partnership with country teams and cross-functional leaders ensuring alignment and operational follow-through.
  • Own revenue outcomes for defined growth segments ensuring accountability for achieving regional growth targets.
  • Lead and coordinate teams to ensure effective execution of strategic initiatives with a strong focus on operational results rather than advisory input.
  • Oversee regional launch coordination for non-platform NPIs and product enhancements providing regional input to global teams for long-term strategy and roadmap development.
  • Collaborate with GMs and senior leaders to integrate strategic growth initiatives into country-level plans and ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop strategic plan vision and direction for multiple functional areas or integrated departments.
  • Establish budgets for strategic markets in alignment with GMs set short- and long-range objectives and define criteria for monitoring progress and measuring success.
  • Provide input to executive leadership and promote innovative concepts using detailed knowledge of the company.
  • Frequently interact with Head of Region GMs senior management of supporting functions and executives on matters concerning several functional areas divisions and/or customers.
  • Interact and partner internally and externally with executive-level management to provide cohesive direction toward company and regional goals.
  • Apply communication strategy and persuasion skills in negotiating critical matters while preserving relationships.
  • Recognized as an influential leader driving measurable business impact.

Position Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of Illuminas market position strategy goals and corporate structure.
  • Proven ability to manage projects people customer expectations and business priorities to meet and exceed goals.
  • Strong financial acumen to manage budgets plans and expenses for key initiatives.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills to consult with senior leadership and ensure strategies are aligned and focused on long-term results.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively on cross-functional/matrixed teams with a proven track record of influencing others with and without authority.
  • Experience leading direct indirect and virtual teams in a matrixed environment with successful leadership and coaching experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with senior leaders throughout the company and external stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating across global time zones and cultures.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% including overnight/weekend travel.
  • Conduct all activities professionally in an ethically and legally compliant manner upholding company mission and values.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:

  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree (Masters) preferred.
  • Typically 20 years of related experience with 12 years of applicable management experience.
  • 10 years of commercial management experience.
  • 10 years of experience in healthcare/diagnostic marketing or sales.
  • 5 years of experience working with clinical genomics methods or technologies.
  • Broad knowledge of corporate functions and operations.
  • High-level understanding of markets and sales opportunities for the companys products.
