Title:Occupational Therapist Reports To:Program Principal/Executive Director Looking to fill a full time position through the end of the school year with the option of working our exteneded year program 7/6/26-7/31/26. Qualifications: Must be certified and registered by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists. Scope of duties: - Evaluate students occupational therapy needs and develop goals objectives and treatment plans.
- Deliver occupational therapy services within an integrated therapies approach and ongoing consultation with classroom staff and other specialists.
- Plan and deliver motivating 1:1 and small group treatment sessions to address student needs.
- Collect data relevant to IEP objectives and continually assess progress and make adjustments to interventions based on student performance.
- Assist in facilitating independence social awareness language and appropriate behavior.
- Attend IEP meetings and other school meetings as deemed necessary by the program principal/executive director.
- Complete comprehensive written evaluations and progress reports.
- Consult with students teachers caregivers and collateral supports as deemed necessary in cooperation with the program principal/executive director.
- May be required to visit the students home as well as accompany the student to outside evaluations as deemed appropriate by the program principal/executive director.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by participating in professional development and staying current with the latest research and best practices.
- Carry out other assigned duties for example; supervise students at lunch; assist with personal care support or other duties as assigned by program principal or executive director.
- Experience working with students with multiple disabilities and Autism be able to work with verbally and/or physically aggressive students.
- Must be able to lift pull or push approximately 40 lbs and have the ability to move quickly from standing to floor and floor to standing.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills required.
Employment is contingent upon passing a SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening. |
