Description of Work
This position is located at Southern Correctional Institution Troy NC which houses approximately 500 male offenders. Southern Correctional serves as the hub for healthcare for the male offender population.The Health Care Technician I position is primarily responsible for providing direct care and person-centered supports to offenders with complex physical intellectual medical and behavioral needs. Duties include completing nursing assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross/fine motor skills ensuring activities of daily living (mealtime dressing bathing grooming etc.) while supporting the highest level of independence. This position is responsible for ensuring all health and safety needs are met for assigned offenders per regulatory guidelines. Health Care Technician I are responsible for ensuring confidentiality and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) in all aspects of communication.

Salary Range: $31200 - $46348
Recruitment Range: $31200.00 - $44621

- Must complete the Department of Adult Corrections Medication Technician course and competency evaluation upon hire.
