JOB SUMMARY:

Under general guidelines this position provides support for both the Banner Accounts Receivable (AR) and Banner Financial Aid modules. It is responsible for maintaining accurate configuration system integration regulatory compliance and the continuous improvement of student financial processes across the institution. Collaborates closely with Student Financial Services Financial Aid and Information Technology to translate institutional needs into effective Banner setups workflows and integrated solutions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Banner Accounts Receivable & Financial Aid System Support (30%)
Provide functional and technical support for Banner Accounts Receivable and Financial Aid modules.
Configure maintain and enhance Banner tables rules and processes related to billing payments refunds aid awarding disbursements and reconciliation.
Support integrations with third-party systems such as payment processors (e.g. Transact Nelnet) financial aid tools and workflow automation platforms.
Monitor and maintain system schedules batch processes and job submissions.

Business Analysis & Process Improvement (20%)
Collaborate with Financial Aid Student Accounts Finance and other stakeholders to analyze business processes and identify opportunities for efficiency automation and improved student experience.
Translate functional requirements into system configurations technical specifications and testing plans.
Recommend best practices aligned with Banner capabilities and higher education standards.

Testing Upgrades & Release Management (10%)
Conduct impact analysis testing and validation for Banner upgrades patches and configuration changes affecting AR and Financial Aid.
Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and document results.
Ensure changes are thoroughly documented and communicated to stakeholders.

Compliance Data Integrity & Reporting (15%)
Ensure systems comply with federal state and institutional regulations related to student accounts and financial aid (e.g. Title IV).
Monitor data integrity across AR and Financial Aid modules and support audits reconciliations and reporting needs.
Develop or support operational reports and data extracts using Banner data SQL and reporting tools.

Training Documentation & User Support (10%)
Provide training documentation and ongoing support to functional users in Financial Aid and Student Accounts.
Create and maintain system documentation procedures and job aids.
Serve as a liaison between functional offices IT teams and Ellucian support.

Collaboration & Governance (10%)
Participate in data governance ERP governance and cross-functional project teams.
Collaborate with ERP Analysts Report Writers and technical teams to ensure consistent data usage and system alignment.
Stay current on Ellucian Banner releases regulatory changes and higher education best practices.
Completes all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Information Systems Business Finance or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting ERP systems preferably Ellucian Banner.
Demonstrated experience with Banner Accounts Receivable and/or Financial Aid modules.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of Banner AR and Financial Aid processes data structures and workflows.
Experience with system configuration troubleshooting and functional analysis.
Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and reporting.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a higher education environment supporting student financial systems.
Familiarity with Banner Reporting Ellucian Insights or Ethos Data Lake.
Experience with workflow automation tools such as Ellucian Intelligent Processing (EIP).
Knowledge of third-party financial aid or payment systems.
Understanding of financial aid compliance Title IV regulations and student billing practices


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires an ability to sit stand walk bend lift reach up stoop and carry items occasionally more than twenty-five (25) also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines such as copier fax calculator telephone and other equipment as expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.

To perform this job successfully the employee must possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Additionally all employees of the College are expected to maintain professional standards of communication able to learn and apply new technology and abide by all policies and procedures. Continued employment remains on an at-will basis. Primarily office-based with potential for hybrid or remote work as approved.
May require evening or weekend availability during system upgrades financial aid cycles or issue resolution.
