MaineGeneral Health is hiring a Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical Services this role you will play a vital part in the surgical process by delivering compassionate holistic care to patients before during and after surgery. Youll ensure patient safety and comfort support positive outcomes and collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care.Job Description:
Position: Perioperative Registered Nurse
Location: Thayer Center for Health Waterville
Schedule: Part-time (36 hours/week)
Shift: Days (M-F no call weekends or holidays)
Position Highlights:
- This position is M-F with no call weekends or holidays. However there is an expectation of cross-campus training to be able to float to the Alfond Center for Health if needed.
What Youll Do:
- Plans implements and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care including patient transfer discharge referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Maintains and troubleshoots surgical equipment. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
What Were Looking For:
- Current State of Maine RN license (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities flexibility and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication skills with patients families and team members.
