About This Role

The Category Manageris responsibleforprocurementsupportfor thePatientServices organizationand the Commercial Print and Fulfillment Services Category.The categorycoversa variety ofpatientsupport programs critical totreatmenteducationandsecuringaccess to Biogenmedications.In addition to Patient Services the role covers Print and fulfillment services for the Commercial organization that include Print fulfillment sampleprogramand patient letters.The individual willbe responsible forstakeholder management procurement category management sourcingcontractnegotiationand supplier relationship management.Thisis an individual contributorrolethatreports to the Director GlobalProcurementCommercial Category Leader.

This is a Hybrid based role (requires partial work in office) in Research Triangle Park NC or may be based in Cambridge MA

WhatYoullDo

  • Establish strong relationships withthePatientServicesand commercial operationsteamsunderstand their business requirements priorities and strategic direction tofacilitateearly and consistent engagementwithprocurement

  • Work with the PatientServicesand the commercial operationsorganizationsto develop and executebest in class category strategiesto address outlinedshort- and long-termbusiness objectives

  • Leveragespenddata analytics external benchmarkingand cost modeling toidentifyhigh value opportunities that deliver sustainable valueandoperational efficienciestothe business

  • Lead sourcing activities consistent with the category strategyobjectives. This includes developing sourcingstrategiesand executing sourcing events through efficient use ofappropriate buyingchannels and resources

  • Ensure supplier contracts are current and reflect the most up to date Biogen terms and conditions.

  • Serve as the supplier relationship manager for key suppliers.

  • Responsible for supplier management activities ensuring theappropriate levelof oversight direction and development based on the defined criteria

  • Responsible foridentifyingsupplier risk areas and developing and executing risk mitigation actions

Who You Are:

You areaprocurement professionalwith experience incategory management negotiation andpossessexcellent stakeholder management skills. You thrive working in close partnership withyour business stakeholders todevelop a pipeline of cost and continuous improvement projects.You enjoy collaborating with diverse subject-matter experts to develop process improvements and evolve category strategies to best in class to meet critical business requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience including strategic sourcingnegotiationsand category management

  • Experienced negotiator with working knowledge of terms and conditions redlining and working with Legal team to mitigate risk and ensure best value terms for the company

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills withabilityto build effective relationships and influence peers and key stakeholders.

  • Excellent interpersonal motivational and leadership skills

  • Ability to deal with change and ambiguity effectively

  • Strong project management skills with ability to plan tasks manage progress remove barriers manage change resolve conflict build consensus and motivate team members across multiple projects concurrently

  • Strong analytical skills which provide insights and formulate recommendations using data driven solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to the given audience. Can present information in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to prioritize organize and multitask in a flexible fast-paced and challenging environment

  • Process and cost improvement skills

  • C.P.M./CPSM certification desirable

Education

Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $103000.00-$138000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including but not limited to relevant skills & experience job location and internal equity.
