Sticklepath Community Primary Academyare looking for a reliable enthusiastic and hardworking KitchenAssistant to join our school catering team. This role is essential in supporting the smooth efficient and highquality delivery of our school meals service.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant you will help ensure that pupils receive healthy nutritious and enjoyable meals each day. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and service of food contributing to a highquality catering service
  • Supporting the daytoday running of the kitchen as part of a friendly efficient team
  • Complying with Health & Safety Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations
  • Producing healthy balanced meals and promoting positive food choices
  • Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas
  • Cleaning equipment utensils surfaces floors and fixtures after service
  • Setting up and clearing the dining hall including tables chairs and cleaning duties
  • Recording food temperatures and reporting issues such as accidents complaints or equipment faults
  • Providing excellent customer service to pupils staff and visitors
  • Attending training and contributing to continuous improvement of the catering service


What Were Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has strong practical skills suited to a busy handson catering environment (whether gained at work or personally)
  • Can communicate professionally and courteously with staff pupils and visitors
  • Works well as part of a team and brings a positive cando attitude
  • Has good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn
  • Is able to follow procedures maintain hygiene standards and take responsibility for small tasks
  • Can identify minor issues and knows when to report larger concerns to management
  • Is physically able to carry out the duties of the role (reasonable adjustments considered)

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience in catering or a similar role
  • Basic IT skills for simple administrative tasks
  • Relevant industry training or qualifications
